Doing a little something different today. Take a little walk out in the woods for this video. So hope everything goes smoothly. Sometimes you never know what's going to happen out here. But for today's video, I wanted to talk about patience and kind of what patience means to me and how. I believe patience is one of the most important things a person can learn, um, in their lifetime.
I would also say patience is kind of one of the keys to having what people deem a successful life or a more fulfilling life. So patience is, you know, the ability to, in a sense, wait and let things unfold naturally and organically and how, I don't want to say, how they're supposed to happen. I don't know if that's, I don't know if that's saying the right way to term it, but for the sake of the video.
Um, I'm just going to go with that. And I believe patience is important because
to be more in control and more tapped into our body and our energy.
It allows us to sit uncomfortably. Um, which is something myself included and I'd say most people in today's society have a really hard time doing is sitting in that discomfort, that boredom, that unknowing, um, that can require patience. A lot of times we live in such a,
you know, distracted society with so much noise. And with our phones and right in our hands all the time, a lot of times we're just so quick, you know, to pick those up, to distract us, to get us out of that discomfort.
But, uh, I digress. To me, patience is the embodying of a calm energy. Being able to Be still, um, and not chaotic.
I don't know, but if you, if you pay attention when you're patient, you'll just notice kind of a calmness that washes over you and kind of radiate outwards from you.
It's also more inviting to other people. I know,
from like a person to person interaction standpoint, patience can be very important. Because a lot of people feel like, rushed or they're inconvenienced, being inconvenient to you, in certain interactions.
But when you give someone
that time of day, and space, to allow them to figure out or accomplish whatever they're trying to do in that moment. Um, they're very appreciative of it. Um, I know from my own, um, life, people have definitely been appreciative of my patience I can have with them. Um, because my job requires, requires interacting with a lot of people, and I guess it's a, a rare thing because people always will say, like, thank you for being so patient with me.
Um, you know, I really, I really, really appreciate it. So it's a good quality, good quality to have, just, uh, to be interacting with other humans. But for yourself as well, patience is extremely important because it allows you to not get flustered and overwhelmed with life at certain times. And as I said earlier, it allows for things to unfold in a more organic way.
And a lot of times, in the way that you were hoping for, or even sometimes even better and unexpected. Um, an example that I can kind of give for me, my life recently with patients is, um,
I do some DJing and music stuff, so I had reached out to this new venue, I mentioned them on Instagram, asking who I needed to be in contact with potentially getting booked, um, for a gig there. So I sent the message and, you know, I didn't think anything of it. And I think within the same day, I got a message back, you know, saying, you know, contact this person, email this, um, person and then go from there.
So I did that, sent an email saying, you know, what I'd like to do and how, how I could get booked. Um, To try to quicken the story up, anyways. Sent emails back and forth each time. You know, sometimes I'd get a quick response, sometimes it'd be a few days. Um, and when the, take a little bit longer, I did have those moments come up to me, come up, of like, maybe I should email them again, um, but I didn't.
I, I remained patient. Sat through that discomfort. And what do you know, like an hour later I'd get an email from them hearing exactly what I wanted to hear. And to sum it up, I basically went down to, eventually I went down to the venue, I met with the manager, and I got booked for a gig. Um, sooner than I was expecting.
I thought it was going to be a little bit, you know, in a couple months, but you know, well actually a couple weeks. So. Being patient and not trying to force or scheme my way into anything, um, allowed for that to unfold and happen for me to get that gig.
Um, I've also been experiencing it with work where, you know, trying to create deals with other business partners and sending emails back and forth and You know, some people are more responsive and then it takes a week or so. And then I'm like, well, you should email them back. But I know that we've been talking, so I just trust that they're going to email me.
And if they don't, then they don't. And nine times out of 10, when I start having that thought, either that day or the next day, I get an email confirming what I was wanting to hear or
setting up the next day to continue our talks and discussions. And
a lot of the times, It's not that the people, and people don't forget a lot of the times, even though sometimes it may seem like that, but a lot of times it's just like, uh, you know, I was busy doing this. I've been out on the road. Uh, thanks for your patience and allowing me to get back to you. Let's set up a call tomorrow and see where we can go from there.
And patience also does not mean That things are going to take a long time. I think we have this concept that patience means waiting a long time and it can be, I mean, patients definitely can be waiting longer periods of time, but it doesn't always mean that's going to be the case. Sometimes. It can be almost instantaneous, you know.
You send the thing and you're kind of like, I'll wait for it to happen, or whatever it may be, and then you have that trust that you did your part and now you're going to let the course take its action.
And like I was saying just a moment ago, like, you know. When I emailed the people, like, the one day was like within an hour or two I get an email back and then after I send that it was a couple days, but in the end I was patient and the outcome was what I was looking for.
So there's the, that cliche quote, you know, patience is a virtue, I believe.
And those cliche sayings and quotes. are always so true, you know, being patient is a great trait and characteristic, characteristic to have. And the more you can learn to become more patient with yourself and others,
just the better your life will be like, you're not going to get frustrated or upset as easily and you're going to have that comrade energy and be more centered within yourself.
So I think patience is one of the more important
characteristics and things people should learn in their life.
I think that's kind of all I have to say. I'll be back with another video again soon. I hope you all enjoyed this and have a beautiful day. See ya.
