You ever feel like your whole life is running on an outdated operating system? It's wild how we don't even realize it, but we're out here trying to design a pretty life while running on beliefs that were never ours to begin with. And the craziest part is, you can change all of it once you start seeing reality as the most complex technology around.
Raymond is a multi-disciplinary designer and developer. You'll find him most commonly skateboarding, having a coffee, programming, algorithmic day trading, creating 3D art or working to bring the Reality Designers vision to life.
I've definitely realized that life has this knack for sneaking in updates when you're least prepared for them. It's like living inside some unseen operating system. " Kinda wild when you think about it. And the thing is, most of us are running these old programs, outdated firmware that keeps us in a loop.
I don't know, man, it’s like we’re logging into a mainframe that has nothing to do with who we really are. And once you get that, really get it, you start seeing how designed reality is. In the easiest sense, designing your reality is just like upgrading your OS. You can debug your beliefs, patch them up, and suddenly all these downstream things work differently.
The whole thing starts when you do an honest-to-god self-audit. Just like debugging code, you're there examining the whole terrain of your life. Yeah, you might find all these 'plugins and attachments' you've unknowingly installed from society's free store of opinions and expectations. It's almost ruthless how much config you have running that you never even coded yourself.
And the interesting thing about that is, by removing just one faulty line of belief, you can shift your entire user experience. It’s pretty straightforward but gets tricky when you realize you might be your harshest blocker.
When I was younger, you know, I really decided that instead of just following this default life path, I'll go off-grid, literally and metaphorically. Imagine monetary crashes and homelessness as some cosmic-level debugging phase, sounds intense, right? But see, these tests, they are psychic notifications telling you something's out of sync. They remind me of how life is essentially a game.
There are hidden variables, character traits, and levels you need to unlock. Once you treat it like a game, you stop taking every loss to heart and begin to explore the actual system parameters you wanna mess with.
And you start to understand that nothing out there requires your attention unless you want it to. Things are happening, sure, probably all the time, but there's a filtering layer that's been programmed over reality to just make stuff seem more urgent than it really is. That's not quite it; it's like, there are algorithms curating a 'you' that you weren't consulted about. If you're like most, you probably never even questioned it.
But once you do, that’s when the magic coding begins. You get to reconfigure, rewrite your reality as you see fit.
Your awareness is basically a screen. Your mind? Well, it’s got a series of slides, your thoughts and beliefs, that are always projecting right onto that screen. Change the slides, and bam, the picture looks different.
And here's where it gets even weirder: what you focus on literally becomes your reality. I'm telling you, attention is like input data. This isn't woo; it's just physics and psychology hanging out together having some cosmic coffee.
At one point, you notice, especially when you're building things on the internet or coding, that every experience is an app on your life's OS. You can delete apps that are draining resources, like old grudges or toxic relationships, and you can install a new framework, maybe an inspiring project or a healthier mindset. You’re responsible for what runs on your system. Just like when you shift a few lines of code, the whole program can run smoother or crash less, the same goes for your life.
And now I'm wondering, isn't it wild that we're so willingly downloading these social constructs and beliefs without even questioning the code behind them? I mean, if you can just see life as something you can hack, suddenly you find yourself in a vast architecture where gravity doesn’t apply. And, you know, we’re the glitch that figures everything out, unplugging from the matrix one idea at a time.
Designing your reality is basically debugging your own operating system. You find the broken beliefs, you patch them, and then everything downstream starts working differently.
Bottom line, you start grasping that nothing out there is real; it kinda is, but it doesn't have to be real for you. That's the freedom, the weird freedom of choosing your own adventure. It's less about constantly chasing new plugins or adding more functionalities. It’s about stripping it down, debugging, maybe even starting from a basic version of yourself and building it up again.
Piece by piece, patch by patch, until the OS you’re running finally matches the reality you want to experience.
And so, where does that leave us? Maybe just at another starting line, where we realize there's no real finish. Every new idea could be the next piece of code that changes the game. It makes you wonder, though, what else is embedded in this reality that we haven't even thought to debug or rewrite yet?
Maybe that's the next line of code we all need to write together.
