Ever given a thought to how your life gets programmed? It's like this weird algorithm shaping you into someone you didn’t consciously choose to become. Let's dive deep into the guts of your reality and start playing the game with purpose.
Raymond is a multi-disciplinary designer and developer. You'll find him most commonly skateboarding, having a coffee, programming, algorithmic day trading, creating 3D art or working to bring the Reality Designers vision to life.
So, the thing about design is, it's not all that mysterious. We talk about designing apps, interfaces, buildings, but why stop there? I've definitely realized that our reality's just another layer ready to be tweaked. Your beliefs and thoughts project onto your awareness like a slideshow, shaping everything you see and do.
And, you know, it's all about choosing which slides you're gonna put in that carousel, no need to watch what someone else prepared.
There's this bizarre kind of algorithm curating your reality, like a cosmic tech giant personalizing your life feed. But here's where it gets tricky, you often don't get to choose the inputs unless you step in and hack the system. When I was younger, maybe 17, I opted out of what was expected, college, a 9 to 5, the usual scripts society hands you. Instead, I chose homelessness for a while and, funnily enough, it was more freeing than it sounds.
Because it's less about what you don't have and more about what you're not chained by. It's like a digital detox for the soul.
Designing your reality is basically debugging your own operating system. You find the broken beliefs, you patch them, and then everything downstream starts working differently.
So much of who you are feels deterministic because most people let the default configurations run unchecked. You're running software that, half the time, isn't even relevant to the version of you that exists today. I mean, when was the last time you consciously checked your belief system? Debugging beliefs is somewhat like debugging a huge, gnarly piece of code.
You're gonna find that some of the core routines are malfunctioning because they're ancient and have become obsolete.
That's the key, isn't it? Self-audit, like doing a system scan for viruses. It’s totally practical stuff. Strip away the psychic plugins that you've installed from cultural norms or past traumas.
You know, most of the time, these plugins aren't serving you anymore. They're like these automatic downloads that keep your system running slow.
When I started figuring this reality design thing out, I noticed my life was more about not doing the things everyone else was doing. I stopped defaulting to the world’s filters. It's kinda funny, once you start removing these filters, you'll see how outrageous your raw, unfiltered awareness can be. A lot less is real out there than we tend to think, what's real is what you're allowing through your conscious screen.
This aspect of reality works well as an operating system analogy. Your hardware's finite, your brain, your body, but the software? That's endless. Updateable.
But don't just accept those automatic updates pushed by societal norms or media. You've got to curate that, choose which updates to install, uninstall the ones slowing you down. For me, learning to code wasn't just about writing code, it was about learning the framework of reality, building on the internet as a path to figuring myself out.
And technology, man, it's way more spiritual than most people think. Coding taught me that life is a sequence of statements and loops and branches, and just like that, your belief system has switches you can flip, reactions you can predict. Once you start seeing it that way, it changes everything. You start to see life as a massive multiplayer online game, populated with these hidden variables and potential upgrades that are yours to find.
Now, here's where things get interesting. What do you do when the game throws you curveballs? Psychic notifications, I call them, life sending you signals, outcomes that seem random but are actually answers to questions you didn't even know you were asking. And here’s where the game truly becomes like a reality tunnel, because when you start reading these notifications accurately, you get to navigate toward where your growth lies.
You know, since reality is ever-updating, the game is rigged in a way that you only move forward when you've passed these psychic tests. Sounds a bit like a game, right? Win the level, move to the next. But it's self-directed.
Nobody hands you the map or tells you which path to take. It's experimental. It's all a work-in-progress, constantly changing with each choice you make.
When I look back, it's clear that opting out of the mainstream gave me more time and energy. It's a kind of life audit where you find you've built a better reality by simply not doing what you've been told you should. The algorithm's always there, and it can keep shaping you, but you get to decide the coding language, the syntax, the architecture of your reality.
It's like I've been saying: life is really this practical thing one after another. Nothing out there requires your unwavering attention. Choose what to focus on wisely, and redesign your reality accordingly. If you don't, the world will configure you into the person you never intended to be.
And that's why we're here, hacking this reality matrix to make it our own.
So, what's the next plugin you'll uninstall? What's the next update for your firmware? It's kind of a thrilling thought, isn't it? The idea that you can just flip a switch, rewrite a line of code, and the whole scene changes.
That's where I'm headed next. I don't know what I'm gonna find there, but that's what makes it interesting, isn't it? The unknown parameters, the variables you've yet to define, they're waiting. And maybe they've always been there, but now you see them, and now they can be something you actively design.
